Suno Makes v4.5 Standard for All Users — A Big Win for Free Creators
Suno just dropped a major update that levels the playing field for every user, whether you pay or not. The AI music platform announced that version “v4.5-all” is now available to everyone, including those on the free plan.
That means newcomers who’ve never subscribed can now experience one of Suno’s most beloved models — v4.5, known for its realism and musicality — instead of being stuck on older, more inferior tech. For creators using the free plan, this marks a huge leap forward in quality.
What changed?
According to Suno’s official Discord server announcement on Oct. 21, 2025:
New users now start with v4.5-all (no subscription required).
Free account users will only have access to v4.5-all.
Subscribers can still use v4.5-all along with v5 and all previous models.
v3.5, once the free standard, is now part of the “previous models” list for paying members.
Why this matters
Until now, free accounts were limited to v3.5, which — while solid — lagged behind the more polished v4.5. The quality jump between those two versions was massive. Many in the Suno community still consider v4.5 the “sweet spot,” praising its organic instruments and balanced vocal tone, while some say v5, though more advanced, still has a few rough edges.
By standardizing v4.5 for everyone, Suno just made one of its best-sounding models universal — a milestone moment for accessibility in AI music creation.
What the free tier includes (and doesn’t)
Even with the upgrade to v4.5, Suno’s free tier still comes with a few key limits. You get about 50 credits per day (roughly ten songs) but there’s no option to buy extra credits once you run out. You can upload up to a minute of audio, but you’re also placed in a shared creation queue, meaning wait times can vary.
Songs can be downloaded only as mp3 files (not wav), and everything you make is for non-commercial use.
Still, you have access to most of Suno’s creative tools like Hooks, Covers, Extensions, and style re-use, so you can experiment with plenty of features as long as you’ve got credits to burn.
