Treblo Confirms: "RUBBERZ" Was AI
Treblo released an open-source classifier on Aug. 3 that detects whether a song was generated on its own platform, claiming a false positive rate below 1 in 10,000.
Additionally, co-founder Ryan Tremblay confirmed what Zinstrel and AI detection firm HumanStandard reported back in June: Fenix Flexin’s hit summer song, “RUBBERZ,” was created with Treblo.
"We built Treblo for everyone, from normal people experimenting at home to charting artists looking for new sounds," he said. "Someone appears to have used our model to find a sound that millions of people connected with and that's exciting."
The classifier currently only detects Treblo's own models. The company says it's working to extend coverage to other major platforms.
With this confirmation, Tremblay says "RUBBERZ" becomes the first known AI-generated song to reach the Billboard Hot 100. It also contradicts the repeated denials the Shoreline Mafia member has made regarding the song’s AI use.
Treblo shared three links alongside the announcement. A blog post at treblo.com/blog/treblo-ai-music-classifier lays out the company's rationale and results. A web classifier at treblo.com/detect lets anyone upload or link a song and get a probability score for whether it was made on Treblo — no account or technical background required. And an open-source repo at github.com/Sonauto/treblo-classifier makes the underlying model available to developers, researchers, or competing platforms who want to run it themselves or build on it.
The news lands as scrutiny of "RUBBERZ" is already resurfacing. Seven of the 15 dates on Fenix Flexin's tour — Seattle, Sacramento, San Diego, Santa Ana, Los Angeles, Tucson, and Brooklyn — are now marked "Cancelled," with no explanation given. The cancellations follow a viral video from creator medasin, "The Reckoning of Fenix Flexin & Purps," that's put the AI allegations in front of a much bigger audience.
Fenix Flexin's public stance has also shifted since June: rather than denying AI involvement outright, he's now saying only that he "never lied."
